Awesome Clowns

Puddles Pity Party takes on two prog rock classics from Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. The sad clown’s back-to-back covers of Brain Damage / Eclipse are dark, brooding, and every bit as intense as we hoped they would be. Credits to James Beaton for the arrangement and piano, Tim Delaney on the bass and drums, and Derek Ennis on guitar.

Artist Dr. Garuda shows off another amazing sculpt, this time taking on the creepiest of clowns. The miniature likeness of Pennywise from Stephen King’s IT would definitely give us nightmares standing there staring at us from our bookshelf.

(PG-13: Language) For decades, Ronald McDonald was one of the world’s most recognized brand mascots. But something happened when 2016 hit, and the once-ubiquitous character all but vanished from the scene. Ordinary Things recalls the history of the burger clown, from his creepy early beginnings to his eventual downfall.

Get ready to shed a tear or three with this cover version of the R.E.M. track Everybody Hurts, performed with heaps of emotion by the sad clown with the golden voice, Puddles Pity Party. It’s a somber song but offers sage advice for anyone struggling with difficult times.

Rescue & Restore does a great job taking rusty old items and making them good as new. But given just how creepy this mechanical clown bank is, maybe it was better left in the junk heap. We could totally see a horror movie starting this way, then the bank comes to life and kills anyone who attempts to take the coins inside.

The Dark Knight has a long and troubled history with freaks dressed like clowns, so it’s no wonder that he would want to take down IT’s Pennywise the clown when he comes to torment Gotham. Adeel of Steel made it happen with this well-executed mashup trailer.

So at what point did clowns go from being jolly entertainers to some of the creepiest nightmare fuel ever? Origin of Everything explores what it is about these white-faced, red-nosed characters that keeps us up at night. Turns out they’ve been creepy for centuries.

DM Pranks’ freakish killer clown is back to torment passersby with more horrific and creepy sights. In all honesty, if someone in a clown suit came running after us with a live chainsaw, we’d shoot first and ask questions later.

Puddles is a 7-foot-tall clown – with the voice of an angel. While we’re a bit perplexed by the concept, there’s no denying his musical talent, as he cranks out an awesome cover of Royals by Lorde – that dare we say it – bests the original.
