People put additions onto their houses all the time, but we never thought you could expand a cruise ship to add more space. Check out this fascinating time-lapse clip of a cruise ship as it was cut in twain, and stretched at the Blohm+Voss Shipyards back in 2008.

An amphibious all-terrain cart with a 140hp gas engine and Gibbs’ jet drive. It transforms in seconds, goes up to 50mph on land and up to 45mph on water. Gibbs also has aa amphibious motorcycle coming, but not even Space Sheriff Shaider could look cool on it.

A mobile water park. The Tarzan Boat has diving platforms, trampolines, nets and slides. It also has an outboard engine, life jackets and other associated equipment. Also available for rental in certain parts of the U.S.

This incredible 4K time-lapse by Toby Smith was taken aboard the Gunhilde Maersk, a large container ship, as it makes its way from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Ningbo, China. The visual spectacle that plays out before us more than makes up for the lack of sound.

The Phibian’s off-roading little brother. The Humdinga is a 4WD amphibious truck with a 350hp diesel engine and twin jet drives. It goes up to about 80mph on land and 30mph on water, and can carry up to 1653lb. or about 7 people.

Skimming along the water in a super-fast H1 Unlimited Hydroplane is insane enough, but when something goes wrong, these turbine-powered speedboats can turn into unintended aircrafts, as demonstrated in this incredible POV video.

The Quadrofoil is a two-seater electric watercraft that glides on the surface of water, giving you a quiet, smooth and agile ride. Its electric motor lets it cruise up to about 25mph with an estimated range of 62mi per charge.

U-Boat Worx‘ latest personal submarine is a compact two-seater. Able to dive up to 100m (330ft), the HP Sport Sub 2 weighs just 2200kg (4850lb) and can fit on a 30m+ super yacht or be launched directly from a trailer.

Velodyne Marine’s Martini 1.5 is a motorboat with an active suspension system which keeps its deck and cabin level as it skims across choppy waters, improving marine safety, and bringing sea-sickness to its knees. More at WIRED.

Most JetSkis are made from fiberglass, which limits their usefulness in shallow waters. The AlumaSki is powered by a 110hp marine engine, and offers a 1/4″ thick aluminum hull which can help you safely navigate shallow waters.

The Kormaran can function as a monohull, katamaran, trimaran, or as a floating deck thanks to mechanisms which can open and close sections of the boat and has retractable hydrofoils. With a top speed of 38 knots, it’s bound to be fun too.

Designed by Lujac Desautel, this yacht is like a section of an upscale skyscraper set afloat. The large glass windows reflect the surrounding waters, and the structure offers dedicated living spaces for passengers and crew.

Built from 28 sections of 3D printed ABS plastic screwed and caulked together, this colorful kayak was constructed by Grass Roots Engineering using a special oversize 3D printer. It’s completely watertight, and yes, it does float.
