Awesome Airstream

A one-of-a-kind collection of vintage “Silver Bullet” trailers highlight the Airstream Heritage Center inside the company’s Jackson Center, Ohio HQ. The museum documents 90+ years of innovation with displays, archives, and awesome models including a 1938 Clipper, Wally Byam’s Gold Airstream, and a painted Argosy trailer.

The fully-electric eStream Concept Travel Trailer boasts lots of features we’d like to see reach production someday: a solar panel roof and a high-voltage chassis featuring a battery-powered electric drivetrain for improved driving range. A remote control feature lets you move the trailer’s position after it’s unhitched.

Gleaming steel and curves give Airstream trailers their timeless appeal. For everyone with Airstream dreams there’s Ojai, California’s Caravan Outpost, a bohemian-cool oasis with 10 gleaming Airstreams serving as rooms. Set in a semi-circle, each trailer has its own shaded palm garden with a hammock or table and chairs.

The classically cool Airstream “silver bullet” trailer gets an interior upgrade from Pottery Barn. The 28-foot, $145,500 Airstream features PB hardware, fixtures, awnings, kitchen accessories, tableware, and accent pieces, and seating inspired by PB’s Big Sur Collection, including an L-shaped sofa with a table hidden in the arm.

Airstream revived its most compact camper trailer yet. The Basecamp’s light weight (2,585 lb) and high ground clearance make it suitable for exploring. It comfortably sits up to 5 people and sleeps up to 2, has solar pre-wiring, tons of USB charging ports and a large rear hatch.

A limited edition trailer filled with Pendleton wool, wooden cabinets and embroidered leather. It also has Pendleton blankets, a dining set and more. Airstream will donate $1000 to the National Park Foundation for each trailer sold. Video tour here.
