After another week of living with this bonkers truck in warmer and drier surroundings, we’re convinced no production pickup’s more fun-to-drive or off-road capable. This one looks incredible, bathed in pearl-coat Hydro Blue paint with black accents.

Masks have been part of Japanese culture for more than a thousand years. Process X takes us inside, Womokage, a small company that makes these detailed masks the traditional way. Skilled artisans use chisels to carve facial features from a solid block of wood, then hand-apply a coating and paint pigments to bring out details.

We love watching videos of old things being made as good as new. In this clip, Old Things Never Die got their hands on a vintage mechanical soccer game, disassembled it, sandblasted off the paint and rust, fabricated custom replacement parts, and painstakingly repainted its playfield and players.

Crafty Art imagines what the sharp-featured actor might look like in the role with this impressive sculpture that took over 300 hours to create. After creating the clay bust, they cast a resin version for painting and detailing.

ImpactRack takes those old streetcorner newspaper vending machines, removes the coinboxes, and makes them look as good as new. The boxes can be used for storage, a sidewalk library, or for vinyl storage and a turntable stand. They’re available with classic newspaper logos or can be custom painted.

Wednesday’s pal Thing is brought to life by magician Victor Dorobantu in a blue costume removed by VFX. Jamie and Jay from Wicked Makers made an animatronic version of the hand instead. They started with a cheap Halloween decoration, then sculpted and cast a latex glove and painted it to look like the character.

If you’ve wondered how those colors appear without paint, The Action Lab explains the science at work when heating or anodizing titanium. By applying different voltages to the metal in an ionizing bath, you can change how light reflects off of its surface.

Artist Roman De Giuli created this fascinating experimental short film by dropping metallic paints and inks into a fishtank. Using 4-axis motion control and zooming in to 5x magnification, he captured the ethereal imagery. It looks even more impressive if you have a display with HDR support.

Not content with their customized Xbox Series X, PS5, and gaming PC, Nerdforge wanted to add a Nintendo Switch to their video-game-systems-as-buildings collection. So Martina got to work crafting a Zelda-themed Switch dock that looks like Hyrule Castle and an original painting of the world beyond its gates.

The original Hot Wheels Red Baron is one of the most iconic and collectible toy cars ever made. This video from Paul Restorer takes us through the long and painstaking process of disassembling, cleaning, and repairing the classic toy, which needed bodywork, a paint job, new wheels and axles, and fresh packaging.

To celebrate World Cup time, pastry artist Amaury Guichon created one of his most ambitious edible sculptures to date. This 100% chocolate creation is a 1:1 scale, playable replica of a foosball table, complete with handpainted players, working spinners, and even those abacus-style scorekeepers at each goal.

To celebrate the release of God of War Ragnarök, artist Steven Richter created this impressive likeness of the game’s protagonist Kratos. He started by sculpting a clay bust, which he used to create a silicone mold. After filling the mold with resin and letting it set, he painted on all of the details and applied facial hair.

The Beatles song I’m Only Sleeping debuted on the 1966 album Yesterday and Today. Now has a brand new music video, and it’s a true work of art. Filmmaker Em Cooper created this dreamlike animated video by painting each and every frame by hand. The video was comissioned to celebrate the Special Edition remaster of Revolver.

Ram Trucks teamed up with musician Chris Stapleton to create one of the best-looking pickups we’ve seen. Based on the 2500 Heavy Duty, the Traveller features two-tone paint inspired by the 1979 Ram Palomino. It rides on 18″ turbo fin wheels, a custom Ram hood ornament, and 1980s-style badges. It’s even better on the inside.

Basketball shoes are meant for playing basketball. But Marko took the concept literally and crafted custom sneakers out of a Wilson basketball. The leather and rubber from the ball look like they were difficult to work with, but the finished shoes look like they were worth the effort. That flame paint job is sweet!

Modelmaker 3JWings made this miniature replica of MD 530F helicopter using popsicle sticks. He cut and layered the sticks together, then sanded them smoothly to form the chopper’s body. After cutting and attaching details like its skids and rotors, he applied a yellow and black paint job to bring it to life.
