Folk comedy musician Christopher White aka Isto made a charming ditty about literally undying love. It’s from his latest release, The Halloween Album. We’re not sure we’d buy the whole album, but this song is definitely worth a dollar.

After being transfixed by their video of springs being made, we decided to check out some of the other videos on music label INDUSTRIAL JP’s YouTube channel, and each and every one of them is equally as fascinating.

A wonderfully executed cover version of Cher’s 1998 hit Believe, performed by Australia’s Oasis-esque rockers DMA’s. They sound great, but will surely annoy grammar Nazis with the seemingly unnecessary apostrophe in their name.

Musician Seth Everman sat down at his synthesizer and decided to see if he could improvise the soundtrack for a generic Nintendo or SEGA game. The result? As one YouTube commenter put it: “Is this the leaked soundtrack for the next Zelda?”

(PG-13: Language) A well executed mashup track by kmlkmljkl which combines Childish Gambino’s Bonfire with S U R V I V E’s hypnotic Stranger Things opening theme. We like the title, but think Childish Things could have worked too.

A vibrant cover version of Marvin Gaye’s classic which will have you marching down the street, spinning an umbrella along to the Dixieland jazz sounds of New Orleans’ Hot 8 Brass Band. Go figure that the video was shot in London.

Street performer Ricky Syers gave his rocker puppet Chopsy a massive upgrade from its tin can drum set. The new kit looks so polished we can barely believe that it’s handmade. This would make for an awesome drum pad.

Steve Cutts‘ black and white animated video for Moby and The Void Pacific Choir’s track pays homage to the 1920s & 1930s style of Max & Dave Fleischer, while at the same time commenting on the woes of modern urban life and technological obsession.

GQ’s early Christmas gift to music fans is Rick Rubin’s unfiltered and free-flowing interview of rapper Kendrick Lamar in the legendary producer’s Malibu home. K-Dot talks about growing up to his parent’s music, admiring Eminem, meditating and more.

A folksy, bluegrassy, and wonderfully fun cover version of Modest Mouse’s Float On, performed by the perfectly named Diablo Sandwich and the Dr. Peppers at Athens, Georgia hole in the wall The Lost Mirror.

Queen’s 1977 classic We Will Rock You is one of rock and roll’s (and sports’) greatest anthems. So the idea of a cover version is kind of sacrilege. But we’ll give this 1981 version a pass, since it was recorded by Queen themselves, and gives the song a whole different flavor.

We always thought the Muse track Uprising sounded like the Doctor Who theme song, but this track by CjR MIX proves that it also melds perfectly with Blondie’s 1980 classic Call Me. Download the track here.

Musician Luna Lee knocks another hit out of the park, this time covering Lynyrd Skynyrd’s classic Free Bird on her gayageum, an ancient Korean string instrument, not typically associated with rock and roll.

Nick Proch and his Metamorphestra perform a truly enthralling symphonic take on Tool’s classic Schism. One YouTube commenter smartly observed that it should be part of the soundtrack for a sci-fi film. From the upcoming album, The Ship of Theseus.

Mondo is releasing Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad’s kickass soundtrack for the Netflix series Luke Cage on two 180g vinyl records. Drawing from ’70s soul, Westerns and ’90s hip hop, the score is vital to the show but also stands on its own.
