Intel is working on augmented reality eyeglasses designed mainly to show information. The Vaunt looks like a normal pair of glasses, and have no cameras or hardware controls. It projects a small red display directly to your eyes, just below your line of sight.

Artist Cyril Bagnost presents a cool take on 3D acrylic illusion lamps, with whimsical low-poly designs cut precisely to the outline of the animal. The bulldog and panther are pretty sweet, but we also dig his Jeff Koons-inspired balloon dog. Lamps are powered via USB.

Despite the breadth of his work, there are still trademark stylistic touches that appear in many of Steven Spielberg’s films, not the least of which is his use of background lighting. Jorge Luengo Ruiz put together this short reel of some of these visually powerful moments.

James Siewert’s intense and dizzying music video for Operator Music Band’s electro-industrial track was captured using a custom camera rig designed to endlessly rotate around its subject – in this case, choreographer Jordan Morley, as he writhed around on the carpet.

Artist and LEGO fanatic Mike Marrocco of Funk Blast Art created this amazing model, which does away with the drab shades of grey and replaces them with oranges, blues, yellows, greens, purples, and more. This needs to be an official LEGO kit.

For decades, artists had to rely on clunky old lightboxes if they wanted to trace a subject. We recently discovered modern lightboxes, which are thin and portable. They use bright white LED illumination and USB power. There’s a good variety of styles and sizes over on Amazon.

Revolve splits the tire into segments, which are then mounted on a hexagonal frame. The frame lets you collapse the wheel into a pod that’s 60% smaller than normal. Inventor Andrea Mocellin hopes it will lead to transforming and compact transportation devices.

Artist The Poncho Pilgrim used the low frame rates and coarse edges of 16-bit style graphics to put together a beautiful short film that really creates a sense of place despite the technical limitations. Check out his YouTube channel for more of his art and animation.
