Maker of things The Q has been on a bit of a roll lately, producing all kinds of nifty things for us to enjoy. Watch as he takes a copper coin, flattens it out, and turns the sheet metal into a working “paper” airplane. While it isn’t one of his more complex builds, it’s still a cool build.

Developer Graceful Decay is working on this first-person 3D puzzle game that drops players into a beautiful and perplexing world where every environment and item is simultaneously enormous and tiny. Puzzles are solved by manipulating objects at different scales. Coming to Windows 10, PS4, and PS5.

Using high-precision digital models and laser etching techniques, CinkS labs is creating a series of glass cubes which display intricate 3D images of viruses, bacteria, and cells. The crystal cubes come in 3cm, 7cm, and 10cm sizes, as well as an 8cm sphere. And yes, they even have a COVID-19 model.

Pouff creates moving images using fractal math, and makes their own music to go with. Their YouTube channel is loaded with colorful and hypnotic visuals, like this clip of intricate, organic looking structures, accented by brilliant backlighting.

Peter Brown makes all kinds of neat things in his workshop. After numerous viewer requests, he decided to try and make popcorn bowl where the bowl itself is made from the tasty snack. We were concerned that the wet resin would deform the popped kernels, but it turned out better than we thought it would.

Since 2010, NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) has captured more than 425 million images of the Sun, with a still recorded once every 0.75 seconds. By grabbing one of these pictures from each hour, this time-lapse video condenses 10 years of footage down to just 61 minutes. Put on your sunglasses, sit back, and relax.

We’ve always enjoyed watching videos of wood being turned on a lathe. However, the carving part is usually done with metal tools. The guys from the Waterjet Channel wanted to see if the powerful high-pressure cutting tip of their waterjet could be used to smoothly sculpt a spinning piece of wood in the same way.

Israel-based Metro Skyways is showing off the design for a flying urban vehicle. The CityHawk would take off and land vertically like a helicopter, but uses drone-like fan blades, specially engineered to limit noise. It’s designed to hold up to six occupants, and could be used as a taxi, emergency medical transport, or a flying limo.
