Zune Originals
Microsoft has intro’d 46 new designs for Zune Originals, divvied up into Artist, Zodiac and Tattoo series. They’re available with all Zune players for $10-$15 extra. Thanks, Alvaro!
Zune: Gears of War 2 Edition
Marrying two of its youngest franchises, Microsoft will be releasing a special edition Zune 120 for Gears of War 2 fans, with a laser-etched “Crimson Omen” and 244 bits of media.
Zune 120GB + 8GB
Microsoft’s Zune mp3 player now has a glossy, 120GB version out on Amazon — also, check out the new blue 8GB version, which comes with wireless buying and games.
Concept: Zune Bug
Ashley Payne’s Zune Bug is a modern take on the nightlight. The concept is actually a speaker that streams music from your Zune; it adjusts its volume based on ambient lighting.
Funny: Microsoft Fune
We actually like the Zune, but this Microsoft Fune does such a good job poking fun at “backwards” compatibility that we couldn’t help but laugh; AOL + Microsoft = please God, no.
Concept: BRIX
Microsoft’s Zune may let you share songs, but this BRIX concept by Seokwon Hong proposes sharing multiple BRIXs to form an impromptu viewscreen; family plan, anyone?
Sony Walkman S-Series
Sony’s Walkman S-Series is like a Zune flash with brushed metal and the same price points. The 2″ screen and 7.5mm thickness are nice, but that may change with the new Nano.
Philips GoGear SA5245
It may not be an iPod or Zune, but Philips’ GoGear packs in decent features for the cost: a cool, Zune-reminiscent interface, 2.8″ screen, Rhapsody integration, FM radio and Bluetooth.
