A big rig driver takes us on a ride through one of the more fascinating warehouse facilities in the world. The Springfield Underground is a former limestone mine that offers indoor storage in cavernous spaces to protect goods from the elements at a constant temperature of 62ºF. They also have refrigerated buildings.

The Simpsons’ resident bully Nelson Muntz spends his days in Springfield, and his evenings in Midnight City. Or at least that’s what we’ve been lead to believe by Teo Domani, who figured out that Nelson’s familiar “Ha-Ha!” taunt fits perfectly into the electronic sounds of the track by M83.

It’s impossible to listen to the Young MC track Bust a Move without doing exactly what its title says. Remixer Bill McClintock combined MC’s infectious rhythms with Buffalo Springfield’s timeless protest song For What It’s Worth, giving it a groovy new sound. Listen close, and you’ll catch some Def Leppard, GN’R, and Van Halen too.

(Gore) Krusty and other Springfield characters star in a heist gone horribly wrong. Claymation master Lee Hardcastle shares what he says is a banned couch gag that he made for The Simpsons. The song is I Need A New Beginning by Ruiji – an homage to Where Is My Mind.

The first episode of The Simpsons’ 28th season (daaaamn!) kicked off with a recreation of Adventure Time’s opening sequence, except it’s filled with Springfield’s citizens. It even has Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward singing a variant of his show’s tune.

Aside from sleeping at the Springfield nuclear plant, Homer Simpson has had more than a hundred other jobs. Vox averaged his salaries from the past three decades and came up with a depressing conclusion: that Homer reflects the plight of the middle class American.
